Do you know
which is one of the most difficult languages to learn?
Each one of the languages is a different story, a history and a lot of grammatical elements that conform them, making each one of them different and with unique characteristics.
When learning a
language they can vary according to their complexity to acquire it and of
course "Chinese" is one of the most complicated.
Chinese is a
difficult language to learn due to the complexity of its writing system.
Chinese has thousands of unique characters, and all of these characters have to
be learned. This is different from other languages, where most words can be
written with a limited set of letters. In addition, the Chinese language uses a
tonal system with four different tones, which means that one word can have four
different meanings depending on how it is pronounced. This
complexity makes Chinese a difficult language to learn.
Grammar
Chinese grammar
has some unique features that differentiate it from other languages. These
features include having no verb words, being a non-tense language, having a
limited vocabulary, using a system of grammatical markers, and a syllable-based
structure.
In Chinese
grammar, there are no conjugated verbs, so the action is described simply by
the subject and object of the sentence. For example, 'Tao bought a book' would
be said as 'Tao buy book'.
Instead of using
verb tenses, Chinese grammar uses a structure based on syllables and
grammatical markers to indicate tense. For example, the suffix 'le' is used to
indicate an action.
Dialect
The most commonly
spoken dialect is Mandarin, which is spoken in almost all parts of China.
However, there are many other dialects of the Chinese language, such as
Cantonese, Fujianese, Hakka, Hunanese, Jin and Wu. Each of these dialects has
different characteristics, such as differences in vocabulary, intonation and
accent. These differences make it difficult for speakers of different dialects
to understand each other. Therefore, Mandarin is the dialect used in
communication between people of different dialects.
I think like any language, learning Chinese has its challenges.
